Hi Team 51 families,
We've seen a lot of improvement with the team so far this season. We'll continue to move players around positions so they can gain experiences. One thing us coaches are stressing is that all players have to pay attention to what's going on during games- to help the team out as well as their own safety.
I have scheduled weekly practices on Tuesdays from 6:15-7:15pm on Field 4, starting this Tuesday May 9.
Also, thank you to the families who have fulfilled their volunteer duty in the snack stand during games. The schedule continues:
Thu, May 11 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM vs. Reilly Miller
Sat, May 13 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM vs. 54 Pfaff
Wed, May 17 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM vs. 54 Ramirez
Sat, May 20 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM vs. 52 Ramos
Sat, May 27 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM @ 55 Allebach
Sat, Jun 3 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ 52 Oswald

Hello Team 51 Families,
Cheltenham Little League is built upon volunteers. Our snack stand is a major source of income for the league, and profits go toward field maintenance and complex upkeep. When you registered for CLL, you agreed to volunteer for at least 3 shifts, and snack stand is one of those duties. Each team at the complex needs to have at least 1 family helping in the snack stand during games.
In the past, I've attempted to use a Signup Genius for duties, and parents did not signup, leaving holes in the schedule. Thus, I am assigning snack stand duties for our home games as follows:

If a team does not have a snack stand volunteer at gametime, the game start time will be delayed. Please do not let this happen to our team. As coaches, we have to focus on the practices and games, and not have to worry about who is in the snack stand. We need families to take ownership of this duty. If you cannot get to the stand on your scheduled day, please work it out with other team parents.
Thank you,
Dennis Bieryla

Hi Team 51,
Opening Day is this Saturday at 9am at the Woodland Complex. Please arrive by 8:40am in full uniform (hat, shirt, pants, belt) with shirt tucked in. Players will walk from Field 3 to Field 2 for the ceremonies. I will be working with the TBall aged group during Opening Ceremonies, since I am that group coordinator and this will be their first opening day, so you might not see me. Coach Mike and PJ will be around to lead Team 51.
Afterwards, we'll remain on Field 2 for our first game of the season, which will start at 11am. We'll be rotatingt then players thru various fielding positions during the game. Again, if players want to be catcher, an athletic cup is mandatory.
See you all on Saturday!

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the 2023 CLL Intermediate Season for Team 51. I am the manager, and have 2 assistants: PJ Quinn and Mike Oswald. We're hoping to make this a fun year for all of the team members. Our goal for everyone is to get better and make improvements in their game.
For the month of April, we plan to have practice on Monday nights from 6:00-7:15pm on Woodland Field 2 (April 3, 10, 17, 24). We will be combining Monday practices with Team 52. Please arrive on time.
The Team 51 game schedule is out on the cheltenhamlittleleague.org site. We will be playing CLL and JA teams on random Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For games, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to gametime, so the team can stretch and warmup. As coaches, we need to get a lineup and positions together prior to the game as well.
For practices and games, players will need:
- Baseball cleats (metal cleats NOT allowed)
- Baseball bat. Bats must have a USABaseball sticker on it. BBCOR or USSSA bats are not allowed at this level. If you do not have a bat, we do have some team bats. At this age, I ask players not to borrow other players' bats, because some of the bats these days are upwards of $250. If a player gets permission to borrow a bat, then that's ok.
- Athletic cup is recommended for all players. If you want to play catcher, a cup is mandatory.
- Baseball glove
- Hat at every practice
- Batting helmet (we do have some team helmets)
- Water
That's it for now. We're looking forward to a fun season!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Dennis Bieryla
